Hello Lovlies ,
If you are looking to get healthy cookware or trying to upgrade your cookware and looking for suggestion you are in a right place .
After doing my own research and reading a lot I shortlisted few Utensils which works well and healthy at the same time .
I am not gonna ramble and will come to the point.
My most favorite one is
Enameled Cast-Iron :
Pros :
Metal won’t leach into the food . This is the most important thing to consider while buying cookware .
Maintains even and consistent heat
Since it has enamel it has non-stick surface and chip resistant and very durable. (Trust me my husband dropped it on the floor to test it out when I wasn’t around , it left some cosmetic scratches but not even a dent)
Con’s :
Of course it’s heavy ,that makes it difficult to move i around in the kitchen but worth Lifting LOL
Requires lot of fat for Indian type Fry curries .
Uses :
I use it most of the time for gravy curries , and soups .
My favorite brand is Le Creuset , I have 7.25 Dutch oven and one Balti Dish with lid .
I got both of them from a Outlet store for a lightening deal , I got both of them for $210 .
That’s awesome right , I know π
Second most favorite one is
Apparently ceramic is better than Non-stick , since this is free of PTFE and PFOA’s and is not coated but simply glazed .
This Our Place is my favorite one so far for many reasons .

Pro’s :
Super Non-stick surface
It can be used as saute pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan.
It comes with a steamer basket and also spatula rest , isn’t cool ?
Con’s :
The bottom of the pan is weary and spoils the cute look it has .
Uses : This piece is mostly for frying vegetables and fish grilling in my kitchen .
And next favorite and must have is steel cookware
Steel Cookware :
I own multiple steel pots and pans some of them are from India and I realized those are very thin and reliable for cooking as food is burned easily .
Here are my favorites :
Al clad D5 brushed
Update : Costco has a very good deal on Al-Clad D5 . Price is $649 This is the lowest I have seen
Please go for heavy bottomed pans .
Usage : I find using them for boiling , gravy curries , dry roasting
Pro’s :
Durability and long lasting
These pans are non-reactive with food .
Con’s :
There are only few con’s but investing in a good steel cookware overcomes many of the con’s
Food sticks to the bottom if cooked without any liquid or fat .
And also poor heat conductor but this multi-ply cookwares overcomes that .
Metal may leach into the food if cheap or low quality ones are used for long time.
Cast-Iron :
This is the very cost-effective cookware , if you don’t care about the non-stick surface this is the one for you .
Lodge is my favorite . They have skillets and pans in different sizes and shapes
Pros:
Cost-effective healthy option to cook your food .
Very durable , can be used in oven or on stovetop .
Non-toxic
Cons:
More fat needs to be added until it gains a natural non-stick surface .
Prone to rust when acidic food is cooked .
Very heavy
Non-Stick :
My kitchen is not Idle I do have couple of Non-stick pans , which I use them while cooking for guests to get that perfect texture for fry curries .
Pay attention while buying .Look for the one’s free of PFOA and PTFE .
Use only wood Or silicone lid don’t scratch the surface .
